Beautiful large chandelier by Karin Ferner

Is this large chandelier not amazing?! I love it and wish I could have one in my own home, but here are neither space enough or the right environment to match a big bold piece like this. The chandelier is made by swedish artist Karin Ferner who works with folk tradition but gives it a new twist.

It is exhibited at Kulturen in Lund, a nice museum with a good art and craft history exhibition that I can recommend.

At Kulturen you can also see this folk dress. Compare it to jeans and t-shirt… I have never seen someone actually wear a scandia folk dress like this, it is over a hundred years since it was commonly used. But today many artist take inspiration from this highly decorated folk art and makes something modern from it, like Karin Ferner, and I think that is a great craft movement.
